Free-Standing – Free-standing stoves are a great option if tabletop space is limited. They also tend to be better suited for large groups than smaller tabletop stoves. Free-standing stoves typically use large propane tanks, so be prepared for these to take up a lot of space. However, we did like how much easier the butane canister was to attach than twist-on propane canisters. All you have to do is set the canister in its slot and flip the fuel lock switch to latch it in place — it was by far the easiest setup of all the stoves we tested. We think the difference is partly due to our fuel being extremely dry and light wood, which often required lifting the pot to add more fuel during the test.
The Gas One GS-3000 is capable of slaying any single-pot meal you’re craving, so don’t let its slim price tag fool you. This competent single-burner has excellent simmer control, is easy to care for, and is ultra-portable. This stove has just one single burner, but you could buy three of them for almost the same cost as the cheapest dual-burner we tested. In a competitive field, this stove holds its own, scoring at the top of the pack for portability, ease of care, and ease of setup. There’s nothing special about the simple and straightforward Coleman Classic. It performs well across all metrics and does so at a thrifty price.
And because it’s fueled with propane, there isn’t any ashy mess to clean up. Two burners are sufficient for most campers, but aspiring camp chefs or those who typically head out with larger groups might want to step up to a three-burner stove. And like Coleman’s own Cascade 3-in-1 below, the 328 model comes equipped with helpful touches like matchless ignition, intuitive temperature controls, and an integrated wind screen. Eureka’s Ignite Plus is one of the most well-rounded designs on the market with a solid build, good simmer control, and wide, 23-inch cooking area that can accommodate bigger pots and pans.
Press the pump handle down and lightly place your finger over the hole in the end. If the pump raises, you need to clean or replace your check valve. This unlabeled two burner stove, in John Stendahl’s collection, was identified by Jim MacDougall who noted that the longer case (22″) with 3 hinges fits the Model 3F stove. This was another stove that had a negligible difference in performance between both tests. It boiled one liter of water in 3 minutes and 17 seconds in the windless test but only took 3 minutes and 25 seconds in the windy test. What is impressive about this is that the Everest 2x has one-third the power of the Outdoorsman.
To rank each coleman camp stove, we then take the average between each test. For the most part, if you’ve set up one camping stove, you’ve set up them all, but we appreciate that the fuel adaptor on this model is easier to screw in then many other contenders in our review. The second person is the anyone who really enjoys cooking, doesn`t mind the weight and size, plans on cooking up a storm and doesn`t want to spend too much money. There are many different camping stoves out there and many of them are fantastic (I know because I have a problem and can`t stop buying them!!).

Beyond that, if you are someone who enjoys cooking a variety of food at camp — not just packaged oatmeal and burgers — a more versatile camp stove becomes a necessity. When cooking one pancake in the center of our skillet, everything was perfect. But using the edges of a larger pan showed that little burners struggle with heating larger cookware evenly.
Whether coleman propane stove finding great products or discovering helpful advice, we’ll help you get it right . Ideally, the edges would be smoothed and the burrs removed at the factory. So if you have a few tools, you might want to sand down or grind out the sharp corners. The Mountaineer does have an additional-leg kit, but we didn’t find the pieces helpful .
