It is a fine lantern for car camping where space and weight are not a concern, but definitely not for any lightweight camping adventures. The built in hanger loop functions perfectly, it is water resistent , and runs on plain ol’ AA’s (included!). I will replace with rechargeables when the duracells run out. I unfortunately purchased a coleman rechargeable lantern BEFORE I started looking for reviews..this one wonked out on us after six hours.. This lantern may be able to recharge other items BUT, when we go camping we do not take along things that need to be recharged. We go to get away and radios, cell phones, etc have nop place in our tents. The lantern was easy to use, but was ridiculously heavy for its size and cost more than what we had anticipated. The 5 hour battery life on high setting is probably one of the best features of the Coleman rechargeable lantern.
Batteryplex.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding. Bulb provides similar brightness and battery run time. Lots of great features, plus it looks really cool. Efficient fluorescent U tube gives up to 13 or 28 hours of light from one set of batteries.
Simply turn the knob to high for a 400 lumens or low to conserve battery life. When you think of Coleman, many people think of entry level camping gear. And honestly, that is exactly what the Coleman Rechargeable Lantern is, an entry level rechargeable lantern with a mid level price point.
