The bike became popular with city riders as it could cope with the potholes and badly maintained roads British commuters know so well. I would like to call the TdF30 a roady Genesis Tour de Fer 20. This model features a drop-bar, TRP brakes instead of Promax and a Shimano Tiagra transmission, definitely more roady and with longer gear, for light and trained travellers. For sure this is a versatile bike, without a rear rack and mudguards you can ride on all the secondary roads near your place or for a bikepacking weekend on the gravel roads. These are Genesis’ entry-level road bikes and are the cheapest in their range.
The aluminium frame is very nice since you do not have to worry about scratches rusting out the paint around the area and the rear swing arm is very sturdy due to the set up of the rear shock. The Vapour is Genesis’ CX race machine and there are three models available . There’s the option of having a full carbon frame at the higher end of the spec too, or a more affordable version with an aluminium frame and carbon fork.
Finally, theColumbia Rdis a beautiful step-through with a low maintenance and practical 8-speed internal hubgear. Perfect for pootling around town, plus the twin top tube adds a touch of elegance. The CDA on the other hand is less race and more sportive, with relaxed endurance geometry and massive tyre clearance for knobblies so you can truly take it anywhere. Adventure is probably the biggest category for Genesis, and a full array of mud-loving, gravel-crunching expedition machines are available.
