One of the first things to note about it’s design is that it has a larger drainage hole and a tethered drain cap, which is a nice feature. I have lost a couple of drain caps in my day which makes the cooler unusable until a replacement arrives. I went camping with the Scouts and the poles broke after one trip. Bailing water out of my tent and putting up with the rain is not my idea of fun camping.

Let me just tell you this, it doesn’t make a difference what model your tent is. The main thing is is that the zippers that you put in these tents are so substandard that it doesn’t last more than one or two camping trips. You set a new low in tents and the damn zippers you put in them. I think I will go shopping this week for another tent that I feel better about. Otherwise I like the tent but do not trust it to hold up in severe conditions. I came on this website trying to find a replacement pole and after reading all these poor ratings I am going to take it back to Walmart and Get My Money Back on it. One trip I got rained on for two days, slight leak near power inlet but just a few drops. I did not waterproof seams so that’s on me really. I wound up driving into town, a 30-mile round trip, to buy a tarp with which to cover it, which cost me half again what I had paid for the tent. A good thing, too, as later that night it came a-flood.
The first step is extending and unfolding the steel frame for the canopy. Only open it halfway to make the canopy attachment easier. Locate the corner pockets of the canopy material and arrange them over the corners of the frame, using the hook and loop straps on the canopy’s underside to secure it to the frame at each corner. So I called the company requesting new poles and a month later I have yet to see my new poles. Rain fly is too big — it needs one side cut differently to allow to get in and out of the tent. Also using a ground cover under the tent (seems obvious to me) will help prevent water from coming in from the underside of the tent.
In the past I have been at other lakes that has had a lot more wind then what this tent was not able to take. I have camped there all my life ozark trail table and have never had that problem. I am a Scoutmaster of a Disabled Boy Scouts Troop. I am so glad I do not own these tents for My troop.
