Continue squeezing and put the nut on the back side and tighten it all up. Undo the bolt on the brakes in the picture and pull the cable out. Then on the lever turn the adjuster so the slots are all signed up and pull the cable out. Please send a picture of the rear brake and the lever. I will assist in helping you remove the cable.
