We wisely dismounted on the steepest uphills and also walked one suicidal downhill. Other than my one crash in a deep washout, we survived the worst trail in the area and had a blast.
But after going to the gym and completing several CrossFit workouts each week, the rides became harder and more tedious. Each hill burned out our already fatigued legs and around the 4-mile mark, we’d head back to the car with stiff, cramped muscles. Students can download the SPIN app on their mobile devices to begin using the service. It held a 155-lb adult flying through the air, even though I was half expecting a pedal to snap off on my repeated landings. But no, the thing is overbuilt for its ratings, just like Kent’s lawyers surely insisted that it should be. The V-brakes similarly aren’t incredibly high quality, but then again, they work just fine. We hired the bikes for a day to travel from Staplehurst train station to Sissinghurst Castle. Marcus was exceptionally helpful when I was arranging the hire. His daughter helped us on the day and was able to collect us from and return us to the station. The bikes are brand new and come with all the necessary equipment. Marcus provided us with a map with a choice of routes marked out. Using the bikes is really easy and although the surrounding countryside is pretty flat, it is nice to have to electric motor if you fancy taking a breather or on the slight rises.
