Coleman Instant Tent

Well, here’s a blog post where I bought, tested and compared 6 of the best 10-person tents. Overall, I felt that this Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent was perfect for summer use, with the awesome dark room feature and plenty of ventilation. I felt the most comfortable in this tent in the hot summer days, compared to my other 10-person tents. After about 3 hours of light rain, all the fabric of the main tent body (both the blue and black fabric) was still dry, which was great.

Ditto the last two reviews — the tent is great but Coleman NEEDS to re-engineer the crappy plastic corner pieces. A 10 cent aluminum die cast piece would be far superior to what they currently have. Leaks in moderate to heavy rain and tent corners break easily.

(We were stubborn and didn’t look at the instructions.) Once you identify the front and back, the process is straightforward. The fly goes up and over the tent body, covering only the upper half of the mesh dome, and then forms the glorious vestibule with the aid of a third pole. Use the extra stakes and guy-lines provided to stabilize the vestibule as much as you need. Car campers who plan to brave miserable weather will appreciate the extra strength and protection of the REI Co-op Base Camp 4 Tent. The main bodies of our other picks are structured with two main poles with added support from smaller brow poles.

This is a cabin tent, so the shape isn’t aerodynamic at all. For weather resistance, I looked at rain and wind protection. And if you’re the type that doesn’t like a single spot of light when you’re sleeping at night, well, you’re in luck. With all its windows closed, this Coleman 10-Person Instant Dark Room Tent is almost pitch black, even though there are still street lights from the outside.

Depending on your group size, choose a tent that has enough space. For solo travellers, choose a one-person tent, for couples and families it is common to upsize for comfort as long as space allows. In terms coleman cooler of flaws, there aren’t much to speak of with the Wawona 6, apart from the price. The North Face offers a limited lifetime warranty on the tent, and will repair most flaws and damage at its discretion.

There are no ground vents in this Coleman 10-Person Tent, so there’s hardly any ventilation when it’s raining, except through the gap between the roof and the rainfly. The back door measures about 47 by 46 inches in dimensions, and it’s about 53 inches from the floor to the top of the door. Again, because of the slant coleman cooler of the walls, I do also have to duck quite a bit to get in and out of the tent. The mattresses that I used in this tent are slightly smaller than queen size, but almost queen sized (give or take a few inches). Even so, these 4 mattresses take up almost the entire tent, with barely any space leftover for camping gear.
