The Rockrider 20 inch is available in three different models – the ST100, ST500 and ST900. All three models have the same size frame, but they vary in color, gearing, and components. One hundred euros surcharge to the ROCKRIDER ST 530 S are justified, especially since the bike with 14.45 kilograms in size M is a good kilo lighter. This is not quite enough for crossing the Alps, but the bike is perfectly fine for excursions in the low mountain ranges. In terms of suspension, a 120 mm steel suspension fork with solid 32 mm stanchions and lockout is used at the front.

The frame geometry, suspension and materials make XC mountain bikes light, responsive, precise, and optimized for improving your time during a race or marathon . Because we’ve noticed that it’s not always easy to get the right position on a mountain bike, our designers have created an entirely new frame that’s easy to get onto for both men and women. The CGF frame is 100% aluminum for optimal comfort and excellent maneuverability.

A simple task with a hex key for an ex-shop rat like me, but you might need help here if this is your first bike. Once adjusted I was rewarded with a decently powerful brake set-up, albeit it was dry during the test period. Decathlon lists two slightly different versions of the ST -100 on its site with the only difference being the fork, but both forks offer 80mm of travel with preload being the only adjustment available. This might be a running change due to supply issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. They all seem to be based on robust aluminium frames and ebikes feature prominently in this EXLP range.

Unlike the many other “budget bikes” we have tested, the brakes on all five of the Decathlon’s kids bikes we have tested work amazingly well straight out of the box – without any adjustments needed. In addition to not needing adjusting, the brakes are very responsive and require little effort for smaller hands to engage. On the tall end, our 50″ tester decathlon mountain bike with a 28.5″ inseam also comfortably fit on the larger 24 inch Rockrider with its seat set to its lowest at 26″. As a result, to allow maximum room for growth, we would recommend kids who are 49″ tall with at least a 28″ inseam to move up to the 24″ size. We tested the Rockrider ST inch on three kids ages 6 and 7 whose height ranged from 46″ to 50″.

Hydraulic suspension fork 100 mm with weight adjustment and lockout. The stanchions have a bigger diameter than those of the ST 530 and ST 120. For me, the ROCKRIDER AM 100 S is one of the best examples of the new ROCKRIDER brand experience.

So a few grams of weight can be saved at the rear with the small disc. The ROCKRIDER AM 50 S or All Mountain Fifty S has been introduced in July 2021 and ROCKRIDER thus closes the relatively large gap between the ST 900 S and the AM 100 S. As with the AM 100 HT, the S and M sizes come with 27.5″ wheels and the L and XL come with 29″ wheels. And also with the AM Fifty S can be mounted later tires up to 2.8 inches wide. Just a few years ago, Decathlon sold everything related to bicycles under its own brand B’TWIN.
