The wide tires give you all the traction you need to ride through difficult trails smoothly. After analyzing this fat bike for all it’s different features, I couldn’t wait to actually get out there and ride it. I took the Argus through all the fat bike trails and it did well in all of them. Whether it was beach riding, snow riding, trail riding, or road riding this bike managed to pace through them all. It really felt at home when riding and I was able to comfortably put on quite a few miles thanks to comfortability. Given the low pressure in the tires, you really don’t miss the suspension components because of the natural spring you get as a fat bike.
Obviously, grabbing a cheap bike from a department store comes with compromise and hidden specs. Quick-release hubs mean its wheels aren’t as secure as a thru-axel. Mechanical disc brakes are also bothersome, especially on a fat bike where putting pressure on the brakes requires a bit more strength. Still, if you’re looking for a no-frills fat bike to take off-roading, hunting, or on a snowy day, this one will do you just fine. In fact, they’re quite easy to ride, thanks to their wide tires and stable geometry.
