On June 20, 2019 Deputy J. Ward responded to Northern High School for the report of a theft. The complainant advised the front registration plate was stolen off of her vehicle, but she was unsure exactly when it was stolen. On July 14, 2019 Deputy Lewis responded to the Citgo Gas Station in Port Republic for the report of a physical altercation in a vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, Terrell James Russell , Deputy Lewis noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle.

Holland sustained serious injuries, including head trauma and was unconscious. Maryland State Police Trooper 7 transported Holland to Baltimore Shock Trauma where he is listed in critical condition.
