The genesis bike’s aluminium frame is not only strong but also durable. The basics are there in full length mudguards, a rear pannier rack, and puncture resistant tyres. With clearance for tyres up to 38c and a steel frame that will be robust and help deaden the road chatter, this is a bike with the stamina to match your own. The aluminium frame is very nice since you do not have to worry about scratches rusting out the paint around the area and the rear swing arm is very sturdy due to the set up of the rear shock. An internally geared hub goes a long way to weather proofing the drivetrain, as do the full housed gear cables that help stop dirt degrading your shifting performance. The Datum comes with 32c tyres, which is a bit closer to the ‘road’ end of the spectrum. But there is clearance genesis mountain bike for up to 38c, so if the conditions require it, this bike is able to handle the rougher stuff. Just because a bike is designed for one specific purpose doesn’t mean it is limited to that purpose. Adventure bikes are very versatile and can be put to a multitude of uses.
It is meant specifically for taller folks like me (I’m 6′ 1″) however I think people a bit shorter than me would be right at home. Staff always helpful and informative so I understand repairs recommended. Bikes sold were not only excellent quality but staff made sure it was the correct size for the purchaser sizing both bike and positioning of seat.

The angles are steep, the front end is low and there aren’t mudguard or pannier mounts. 33c tyres are specced , while the maximum tyre size recommend is 35c. These bikes are designed for longer days out being able to handle heavier loads and rougher roads. Some bikes are more oriented towards the rough stuff, whereas others are better suited to carrying loads.
TheEquilibriumandEquilibrium Discare also endurance/sportive-focused bikes, and come with a steel frame and carbon fork. The steel makes for a super comfortable ride, while the carbon reduces some of the weight. The lower-end Genesis bikes aren’t the most durable out there. For one, rim brakes have their own durability constraints.
It could definitely have better brakes, but it is otherwise a fantastic ride and is well worth the cost. The Genesis Zeal 20 MGT has even stronger features than the Delta 30. It does compare, having the same type of tires, cassette, speeds, and brakes. However, the carbon fiber frameset, impressive height accommodations, and gender-neutral geometry put it on top.
