The Schwinn Cruiser 1980 to 1984

I have fallen backwards getting on 3 times. But getting on our step-thru frame electric bike is very gentle and elegant. Even with the step-thru structure, the overall structure is still very solid. The motor is also very powerful, so don’t worry that such an elegant electric bike won’t give you the power you want. Oh, are you going pick up some groceries or go to a friend’s house and pick something up?

If you look at our women’s cruiser, Around the Block cruisers, you can get all of those in one speed, three speed, seven-speed, twenty-one speed. And actually, I don’t think there’s any other cruiser company out there really doing a 21-speed cruiser. The reason we did that is that we want the cruiser customer to be able to have the same gears that any other bike comes with if they want it. Big difference between us and Schwinn, number one is the price point. Now, with that said, Schwinn also does offer independent bike shop beach cruisers. Now, these are gonna be even more expensive, they’re a little bit more high end.

The release of the 1985 film Pee-wee’s Big Adventure highlighted the main character’s cross-country search for his lost custom-built heavily-accessorized horn-tank bicycle. The bikes, noted for their durability and heavy weight, were the most popular bicycle in the United States from the early 1930s through the 1950s, and have enjoyed renewed popularity since the late 1990s. As June neared, we all wondered if and how Covid would affect our warm-weather routines. Would there even be summer vacations at all? The idea of friends and family getting together for a week at the beach was pretty much put on hold.

Because not every beach cruiser lives at the beach, where boardwalks and coastal roads are flat, some are equipped with more than one speed. The Priority Coast, for example, has a 3-speed twist shifter for tackling moderate climbs, yet schwinn dealers retains the beach cruiser feel. No test rides are available at this time. When our shop re-opens to the public following the coronavirus outbreak, we’ll be happy to discuss options for fit customization, upgrades, and accessories.

The worst that’s happened was a replacement of one of the brake handles, and re-straightening of the tire/steering column. Aside from its sturdiness, the thing is just flat-out fun to ride. There’s a “float” feeling due to the fat tires and schwinn ebike the front shock struts. I live in SF, and it’s my only mode of transportation–I’ll never go back to cars, while in the city. I think both have a different set of customers. We are more in the customization, the selection, comfort side.
