Then we knocked each one over to see how much, if any, liquid seeped out. Since 2019, I’ve been analyzing, reviewing, and generally obsessing over products here at Wirecutter, where I’ve written about everything from label makers to solar-eclipse-viewing gear. Most pertinently, I’ve written about insulated wine tumblers, and I spent quite a bit of time testing the buzzy Stanley tumbler against 40-ounce dupes that line store shelves. Most insulated tumblers—whether palm-sized or gigantic—are made from the same materials. And they function in similar ways, which gave me a leg up when I started my research for this guide.
But the Takeya tumbler isn’t dishwasher-safe, and the one-piece lid has too many crevices where dirt and other grime can accumulate. Also, stock is currently very limited, so we’ve reached out to Takeya to confirm whether this model is being updated. But the lid created a weak seal, and it leaked a substantial amount when we knocked the tumbler over. The 24-ounce Corkcicle Cold Cup has flat, easy-to-grip panels along its sides. But the press-in lid doesn’t create a tight enough seal to prevent leakage when the cup is knocked over.
The Yeti pink tumblers are available in the 20 oz and 30 oz Ramblers. While Ozark Trail tumblers may not have the immediate brand recognition that Yeti tumblers do, but many consider them to be Yeti’s equal. In this case, Yeti products do have a positive reputation for their quality.
Yet if you have a regular glass in the office, chances are you won’t be able to enjoy one after coming back from an hour long meeting. Both tumblers look very much the same, so it is a no-contest in this ozark trail canopy area. After considering all those factors, it is easy to say that the Ozark Trail tumbler at Walmart provides users with more value. The shape and weight of both tumblers are very much the same. You can basically get the same type of performance that Yeti Tumbler can give you but get two of them for the same price.
It comes in a few fun colors and there’s also a five year warranty that comes with every Yeti purchase. Finally, I added the vinyl to a piece of transfer tape to make adding the design to my tumbler MUCH easier. Personalize this tumbler with a text, monogram, or graphic to really make it unique. Stanley Cups are notorious for selling out quickly to the point of being used as joke material on Saturday Night Live.
The Yeti Rambler held 27 ounces of ice for 11 hours and 10 minutes. All three tumblers were filled with the same amount of crushed ice. The amount decided upon was 27 ounces, the capacity of the smallest tumbler (Orca Chaser). I used crushed ice because it filled the tumblers more completely, leaving less room for air gaps.
Though the tumbler and lid are both dishwasher-safe, the one-piece lid has crannies where grime and gunk can build up. Deep cleaning this lid is not impossible, but it takes effort, attention to detail, and a straw-cleaning brush (to scrub the interior of the straw). Airplanes, trains, and other modes of public transportation are not known for cleanliness, and you may prefer not to have your tumbler’s straw exposed at all times. The IceFlow tumbler’s straw folds out of sight—and away from germs and dirt—when you’re not using it.
It comes with a hard metal straw, which hurt the palate of my mouth. Neither the Ozark Trail nor the Yeti are designed to be leak proof, unlike insulated stainless steel water bottles. They both work very well at keeping hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. On the other hand, the Ozark Trail tumbler is made of high-grade, double-walled stainless steel and is vacuum-sealed—so pretty much the same as the Yeti. It’s also BPA-free and has a “no sweat” design, but doesn’t have a slider on the lid.
When you are out on the water, people often sneak over to grab something from the cooler and may not latch it back up. With a hard plastic latch, you run the risk of brushing by the cooler and hitting your shin, which I have done and is awful. ozark trail chair One of my favorite features though is the rubber wheels vs. the hard plastic wheels on the Pelican and Yeti.
The Yeti Rambler has a rugged look, which may appeal to some people. This tumbler has a wider, squatter profile than our other picks. For anyone in the market for a cooler that works and won’t break the bank, I would absolutely take a serious look at what Ozark Trail has to offer.
