OHT Day 2: Starry Skies, Spirit Creek, and Fane Creek

I will also bring Zyrtec since I have seasonal allergies, but I will probably wean myself off of it once the pollen levels abate. Sunscreen is incredibly important to me, and I’ll start the trail with a Neutrogena body stick—I hate the feeling of cream on my hands when I can’t properly wash them—and the Trader Joe’s Supergoop dupe for my face. I’m also bringing Sun Bum SPF lip ozark trail wagon balm to leave no exposed skin uncovered. There’s a reason why makers of professional-grade canopies only use straight-leg frames. My name is Heidi (she/her), and I will be attempting a Flip-Flop thru-hike of the AT after I graduate from college in mid-May and before I start my job as a software engineer in October. I was gifted a tick key that I hope won’t get a lot of use.

The canopy folds down to 48.75″ in length and easily fits into the sleeve bag with a pocket for the walls, stakes and guy ropes. One thing we love about Ozark Trail canopy tents are the accessories that can be added to the shelters. These include sidewalls, weight bags, and a host of other great add-ons that can really increase the use and versatility of the canopy tent. Perhaps our two favorites are camping tent additions that connect to the frame of the shelter and leverage the stability of the 10×10 frame to support a camping tent structure. The legs are locked into place with old school metal push button locks, something you won’t see on many modern pop up tents now-a-days. These push locks get very difficult to use over time, especially if the tent is used on the beach and exposed to sand and saltwater, causing rust build up.

Make outdoor events even more fun with this Ozark Trail 10′ x 10′ Commercial Canopy with Sidewalls. It’s made with a powder-coated aluminum and steel frame that provides long-lasting durability. The white top of this Ozark Trail Commercial Canopy is made of 400D polyester that provides 99 percent UV protection for safety and comfort on hot . It features four walls to allow for greater weather resistance. One wall has a zipper in the center that can be used for easy entry and exit. Making it ideal for accommodating large groups of people at one time.

I feel empowered knowing that even when I am tired, I can still push myself to do more. So, for those of you who are enticed by the cheap prices of slant leg canopies, we’re here to warn you to not waste your money – even if it only costs you $75 or $100. I have a Sawer Squeeze—obviously—and will store water in a 1 L Platypus and a 2.5 L Osprey bladder in my pack.

This is subject to change depending on the maladies that may afflict me in the coming months. I’m a twenty-something woman—I’m not giving up skincare entirely even though I will be living in the woods. Yes, my toiletries weigh over a pound; no, I will not cut weight here. ozark trail wagon I will obviously bring a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss along with my regular Cerave cleanser and lotion, plus Dr. Bronner’s soap. I’ll carry wipes for psuedo-showers each night and a small washcloth, along with retinol for the evenings and a morning face cream.

Because adventure is not a destination; it’s a lifestyle. The Ozark Trail canopy very well might be one of the best selling 10×10 tent brands of all time. The easily recognizable logo has been seen by nearly everyone at youth soccer tournaments or beach vacations in recent years. That team is also pretty helpful to have when our marketing team needs to explain why a straight leg canopy has more structural integrity than a slant leg canopy.

I also have a Swiss Army knife that I imagine will mostly be used for filing my nails. A random bandana will surely prove useful for some type of liquid or other. I have to bring hypoallergenic laundry sheets because I have an allergic reaction to scented detergents and don’t want to have to deal with a rash on the trail.

Many newer tent brands like EZ-Up use revolutionary thumb lock sliders or larger easy to release buttons, which are a much better user experience when setting the canopy up or taking it down. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The legs extend to give ozark trail chair the top peak a height of about 8’10” which will be plenty of headroom for anyone underneath. It’s worth highlighting that despite the advertised dimensions of the 10×10 Ozark Trail, because this is a slant leg shelter the top only measures 8×8. While it might not sound like much, that is a difference of 64 sq. Ft. of shade coverage which we find to be quite significant.

My day-to-day life shifted drastically after my last concussion, my ability to perform certain tasks diminished immensely. I lived in a surreal limbo, knowing that I had been capable of more and struggling to reconcile that my brain was … hurt and needed rest. I was scared that I would never be the same, that I would never have the same capacity to achieve intellectual or physical accomplishments like I had previously. So here I am, day two on trail, and already noticing a shift. As the sun comes up and things started to warm, I notice there is even more green in the trees.

For bathroom needs, I’m carrying a Kula Cloth for pee and a 3D-printed poop trowel with toilet paper. I got a Gossamer Gear ultralight umbrella because I think I’d die if I had to wear a rainsuit in 80-degree weather. Well, I’ll also bring my watch—a Coros Apex 2 Pro—a GoPro, and AirPods along with the necessary cords and charging mechanisms. After learning and working as a programmer for the past four years, I think it will feel weird not to have access to a large electronic device for four months.
