We were impressed by its ability to pick up dirt, dust, and hair, leaving the floors feeling nicely clean under bare feet, and we never needed to put it on max power to capture debris. It was even able to vacuum washable rugs like a Ruggable — which can be tricky — picking up dirt and pet hair without messing up the top layer of the two-piece design.
Each round of testing includes a thorough assessment of multiple categories. Plus, along with being one of our favorite Shark vacuums, the multipurpose Shark Vacmop is one of our favorite inexpensive vacuum cleaners, too. There are additional costs that come with ownership, though; the Vacmop is compatible with a cleaning solution and even comes with a small sample of it, but you’ll likely need to restock after a few weeks (for $10 per bottle). While one pad lasted about three days for us, depending on how much we were cleaning, we would love it if this pick used reusable pads.
It’s the only cheap cordless stick vacuum we’ve considered recommending—and we’re doing so with major caveats. To measure the performance of above-floor attachments, we tried them in a dirty car, a sewing room, and a laundry room, as well as on different types of upholstery. Its filters are washable and replaceable, too, and its bin volume is the largest of the handheld vacs we’ve tested. This cordless handheld vacuum’s powerful suction, long battery life, and large bin make short work of tidying up around the home and in the car.
If you think you’ll be running your cleaner on max power all the time, it might be wise to look for a model with swappable batteries. That way when you run out of power you can pop in a second battery and pick up picking up from where shark handheld vacuum you left off. Is it light enough to use overhead if you have shelves and high surfaces that need cleaning? You might even want to consider if it will be aesthetically pleasing, especially if you’re planning to keep it out in the open.

It has an impressively long runtime of around 50 minutes on its normal setting and just under 15 minutes on high, and it was able to pick up every type of debris during testing, including large pieces of pet food. We also love that the vacuum comes with a special floor head for hard surfaces, and its green laser illuminates every speck of dust and pet hair for a more thorough clean. The Ryobi 18V One+ HP vacuum easily transforms into a handheld vacuum, and its attachments are versatile and better designed than those of other models we’ve tested.
