Childhood memories of failures with Tinker Toys came flooding back. But, with determined hope, I began to wade through the instructions. Now and then I walk into a store, it tends to be named ___Mart, and buy something I know is going to bring nothing but grief and heartbreak.
I was wondering if anyone out there can e-mail me the manual. We placed the screen house over a picnic table at the campsite and it did a fairly good job of keeping insects out while we were eating. Wasn’t even able to get the tent set up in a mild wind before one of the corner plastic parts broke.
Bottom of screen doesn’t even tough the ground. This tent is only $47 at Walmart, however that is not the point. The hubs on the tent and the construction of the design are worthless.
But, the slightest wind or rain and the whole thing comes down because of flimsy roof design. After multiple storms/fall downs, the screen portion has suffered some massive wounds. The rest of the process was funny too, with wimpy frizzy guylines, and inexplicable bits of plastic that are supposed to tighten them. I had to use every knot I’ve learned from rock climbing. There’s shade, and fewer bugs than outside the screenhouse. I do have some reservations left, though.
If anyone reading this review has any idea where I can purchase another one just like it, please contact me at If you have the manual ozark trail screen house and can scan it and e-mail me I would really appreciated it. I loved sitting outside and eat dinner in the screen house and mess it.
Shade can be a matter of survival there if you’re outside at midday. Then I started having other wild fantasies, like effectively adding a room to the desert shack where I live by erecting the shadehouse in the backyard. This product from the list of stuff that I wish I never had bought it would in the top two. Setting up the screenhouse you need an army of people to hold the frame in place to put the screen over. Then the hooks don’t even reach the holes at the bottom of the poles. Then if you can manage to get that far, you have to run like crazy to get it tied down before if falls over.
I have been trying to replace it ever since I lost it in a wind storm. I put it up in my yard for my now wife’s bridal shower. I had it spiked down and secured really good. It looked wonderful in the yard so I decided to leave it for a while.
The way the poles clip into hubs is a little hard to get apart. It seems like I am the second person to review this product, ozark trail canopy and the second one to give it a 1 Star rating. Goes together well, but as soon as we got a little shower….
Anyone have spare parts for sale? I need to replace the center hub (CTRH-02) since this broke while I was using it. That’s what we get with foreign made products.
