The KQi2 Pro has made several of our Best Of lists over the past couple years and we continue to recommend it as a great buy — It’s miles beyond what you get from Razor for the same price. The Razor E300’s big tires make it a comfortable ride for city distances, and its batteries seem to offer a good amount of range.

Best price of this and comparable models, and helpful assembly video and advice as needed. The 1703-Tryke is perfect for the use that we intended if for, and enjoyable to ride, and transport stuff that would be impossible on my electric bicycle. Taking it up a moderate incline, the motor pulled reasonably well without bogging down. As for the range, it seemed likely it could go for a bit more than the advertised 40 minutes. I rode the E300 for almost an hour, often at full throttle, and it did not run out of power.

When I wanted to ride at less than the maximum speed, I had to alternate between coasting and popping the accelerator. With that technique, the motor’s torque made the ride jerky. Plugging it in, I noticed that burning rubber aroma peculiar to charging lead acid batteries. My co-workers noticed it too, and suggested I keep this beefy little scooter in the garage. The E300’s wall adapter featured a little green light, which served as my only indication of a full charge.

While many of Razor’s scooters look similar to scooters we regularly review here at Rider Guide, they don’t offer much more for the price than the Icon. In this regard, the E300 fell down as a modern transportation alternative. Without any sort of charge indicator, I had no idea how much electricity I had left. Razor’s specs merely note that the E300 can run for about 40 minutes on a charge.

In addition to proper safety, regular scooter care keeps the good times rolling for longer. Before every use, check all covers and guards to make sure they’re in place and in good condition. Also, check for proper brake functioning and tire inflation to make sure there’s a sufficient tread. Considering its range is so short for me, that meant I always had it plugged in, even after the shortest of trips.

If you’re shorter, like my partner, who’s 5-foot-2, you’ll have no trouble. Razor ships the EcoSmart Sup in one box, and it arrives mostly in one piece. The first part is easy, but my tester’s tire didn’t perfectly align with the front fork, so it required a good deal of force to put it in place. Razor says there’s a spring button on the back of the fork steer tube to help with this alignment, but it didn’t help me. / Sign up for Verge Deals to get deals on products we’ve tested sent to your inbox daily. Kids are kids and will want to push their limits  ut bit is best for them to get a feel for the scooter first and gradually work up to the maximum speed. This is the same recommendation even for more experienced riders. It’s important to get comfortable with the feel of the scooter and always ride cautiously. Just like razor electric scooter when riding a bike, all riders must take some time to learn how to properly balance and steer a scooter on their own and at their own pace.
