Just ignore its declared capacity and you will enjoy this tent. The Coleman tent is an instant setup design but it is also a dark-rest tent. And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh. Overall, because a lot of water leaked through the un-taped seams and even the tent fabric after just 15 minutes of mostly light rain, I would say that this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent is not waterproof at all. Trailspace’s community of gear reviewers has field-tested and rated the top warm weather tents. I’ve always wanted an instant tent and heard how easy it is to pop up.
I also noticed that the fabric of most of my Coleman Tents tend to stay dry in light to moderate rain, and would only start getting wet after 45 minutes to 1 hour of super heavy rainfall. As for my Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent, it was able to stay dry only for about 10 minutes of mostly light rain and some moderate rainfall, not even heavy rain. One of its great features is the front screen room which you can see in the picture below.
I have both the Coleman 4-Person Instant Tent and the 4-Person Pop Up Tent, and in this blog post, I’ll go through all the differences between these tents. We chose the Ozark Trail Clip & Camp because unlike larger cabins with plastic hubs and countless poles, this traditional two-pole dome has the fewest number of parts that can potentially fail. The Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin takes our top spot as the best Ozark Trail tent. With room for 12 and nearly seven-foot ceilings, it checks all our boxes for a big family tent, but even as cabin shelters go, this one is special.
It has a unique structure with a large screen room across the front of the tent for privacy. This Ozark Trail nine-person tent has a 7′ ceiling height for ample headroom. Setup takes under two minutes and requires no assembly because the poles are pre-attached to the tent–just unfold and extend. This Ozark Trail Cabin Tent includes a room divider that creates separate living and sleeping spaces.
This is far from enough, so the declared capacity makes no sense. If used for family camping, this is a tent for parents with up to 4 kids. It is also perfect for two couples, the two separate rooms give some privacy and the screen room may be used as a living room. If you’re looking to save money but still want that cabin tent experience, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Two-Room Cabin is tough to beat. If you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks (emphasis on few), the Ozark Trail 9-Person Cabin with a screen room gives some added livability at a similar price point. Despite what you may have read, you can absolutely enjoy an outdoors experience in an Ozark Trail tent.
It was very difficult to roll the tent back into its original shape to return to store. I’ve read many people have had the same problems and went to army surplus to buy a bigger durable storage bag.These are the two QUEEN Mattress I received with my bundle order. I did not open these boxes because they too needed to be returned with the tent. The Ozark 9 person cabin can fit two Queen Mattresses comfortably. During my research on this tent I watched several YouTube videos on how to set up tent by yourself or with two people.
While I paid between $250 to $350 for both my 10-Person Coleman Tents, I paid only about $100 for the Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent, which is less than half the price of my Coleman tents. This is also a 3-room structure and the rooms are depicted in the picture above. This is a very typical cabin-style tent with very tall and straight walls, the peak height is 76 inches (193 cm). The easiest models to pitch are pretty much always “instant tent” shelters, which use a system of preattached poles than only need to be unfolded and locked into place. I have seen people asking if any of those vents can be used to fit an air conditioner, and the answer is no. Regarding seasons & climate, this is a summer camping tent for places without rain and ozark trail shower tent strong winds. The waterproof rating is minimal, the fly covers only the ceiling, the tent is very tall and as such a huge obstacle for winds and it would not last long in a very windy place.
Our favorite Ozark Trail tent currently is the Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin. This tent’s combination of floor space, livability, and value make it a home run for large groups or families looking to spread out in style, but this 12-person behemoth won’t be everyone’s first choice. The poles are steel and the structure looks strong and stable. So you have this extra bonus here, the ambient LED-lighted poles which provide light throughout the tent. You have low, medium, and high settings and the system works on 4 D batteries. The picture below shows the light center on the ceiling and the other shows how it looks with the light on.
