Coleman Tents V S. Ozark Trail Tents REAL Pictures!

After I ordered the product at Walmart.com, I went to the store to pay cash. I received two queen air mattress on time but did not receive the tent till well over time estimated delivery. I almost went to refund the tent, but it did not qualify @ the time. On the other hand, I’ve had some of my Coleman Tents for about 3 to 4 years now, and I never noticed any of the tent fabric becoming sticky. And the steel poles of my WeatherMaster tent are still holding up fine. And while my WeatherMaster 10-Person Tent doesn’t have super big windows, 2 of the windows are these huge, angled windows for ventilation on rainy days instead.

The number of windows and the size of the windows in Ozark Trail Tents is also lacking when compared to Coleman tents. The pictures below show how pleasant the inner area is, a huge space with windows everywhere, a real camp castle. The minimal fly you can add later and then clip it to the legs poles, and even after doing this, the tent can still be rotated and moved short distances. It comes with six guyline points so you can stake it to the ground when necessary. From this, you also realize that this is a fully freestanding tent.

It has a unique structure with a large screen room across the front of the tent for privacy. This Ozark Trail nine-person tent has a 7′ ceiling height for ample headroom. Setup takes under two minutes and requires no assembly because the poles are pre-attached to the tent–just unfold and extend. This Ozark Trail Cabin Tent includes a room divider that creates separate living and sleeping spaces.

Just ignore its declared capacity and you will enjoy this tent. The Coleman tent is an instant setup design but it is also a dark-rest tent. And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh. Overall, because a lot of water leaked through the un-taped seams and even the tent fabric after just 15 minutes of mostly light rain, I would say that this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent is not waterproof at all. Trailspace’s community of gear reviewers has field-tested and rated the top warm weather tents. I’ve always wanted an instant tent and heard how easy it is to pop up.

Even in light rain, the rain does get on to the window and door mesh, so it’s best to keep them full closed. I also rain tested my Coleman Sundome Tents, and I have the regular 6-person version, the 6-Person Dark Room version, and also the Elite 6-Person version. All these tents were able to stay dry for about 30 to 35 minutes of heavy pouring rain. So all in all, the screen room is a regular room, it just offers more features with its huge mesh on the three sizes.

This is a tall and boxy structure so it is best to use it in a quiet area. But I have seen some users reporting of using it in the winds of 50 mph. This is a freestanding construction, self-supporting and stable as you can realize from the picture below which shows the tent without the fly. But you should certainly not miss staking it properly, the stakes and guylines are included in the package. If you’re expecting no rain at all, this is a great, reasonably-priced tent.

There’s a lot to love here, but as the Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin is still a budget department store tent, you’ll want to be aware of a few shortcomings. First, although this is an instant tent, the unique layout and integrated awning make setup a little more involved than most. Second, the tall vertical walls and “L” shape make it about as far from aerodynamic as they come. Do NOT phone in the guyline portion of set-up (regardless of the weather) or you’ll risk damaging the tent. Finally, the material of this shelter is noticeably higher quality than many Ozark Trail tents, but the 68D polyester is still not as thick as we’d like. No Ozark Trail tent is perfect, but as far as full-size family camping tents go, this is the one to beat.

It was very difficult to roll the tent back into its original shape to return to store. I’ve read many people have had the same problems and went to army surplus to buy a bigger durable storage bag. These are the two QUEEN Mattress I received with my bundle order. I did not open these boxes because they too needed to be returned with the tent. The Ozark 9 person cabin can fit two Queen Mattresses comfortably. During my research on this tent I watched several YouTube videos on how to set up tent by yourself or with two people.

The picture below shows the tent without the fly so you can get some idea about its poles structure. The pictures above also show how you can completely close ozark trail canopy tent the windows and the doors, for privacy and for protection from elements. Note that you have 10 windows in total and they can be closed as you wish.
