Ozark Trail 55 L Crystal Cavern Technical Backpack

It’s kind of a standing joke with me and my blue bag in Peru, Europe etc… I love ozark trail backpack it and for $17 at Walmart it is still my go-to bag for the last 10 years.

I must interject a note about coffee here as I consider it essential! I sometimes use Mount Hagen instant, but you end up with a small wrapper to carry out. My tastiest morning brew involves using espresso grind coffee and leaves no trash to carry out.

The heavy 400D polyester top provides 99% UV protection and is water and fire resistant. The canopy folds down to 52.5″ in length and easily fits into the roller bag with all of the accessories. A relaxing side porch ensures room for entertaining, while the spare room allows you to host a guest or two. This one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage is a delightful retreat with a fireplace and covered front porch. For the fishermen out there, you will enjoy the molded-in fish ruler on the lid of the cooler. While this model isn’t anything ground-breaking by any means, it’s still not oversimplified, and the vents are a prime example of that.

For day hikes this is just as good as (and lighter than) my Osprey Daylite that retails for almost four times more. Ultimately, the good design for this product was that it was sized right for what I needed, both in dimensions and weight. Not too small, but not too large (and thus wasteful) – a Goldilocks design. After all, I had to be sensitive to weight as we were required to carry our own water for 10 miles as there were no options for filtering during that stretch. It was heavier than the premium brands but still light enough for our needs.

In mid-2010, the brand underwent a logo redesign, as well as packaging changes similar to the Great Value brand. The Ozark Trail Montpelier 45L Backpack is the perfect companion for a long weekend. No need for a tube of foot cream or sunscreen, so I estimate what might be needed and pack that amount. As you can see from the photo, I still had foot cream, sunscreen, first aid cream, and Dawn Soap at the end of eight days. The floss is for size reference, but I’m looking for smaller floss containers. I despise plastic floss picks when I see them in the woods. Whatever you use should be placed in your trash bag and carried out. I use an empty coffee bag for trash because it’s light and can be folded down to the size needed.

Great for hiking in warm weather, thanks to the breathable construction, mesh straps, and hydration bladder hook up. I have noticed that when I fill the bag up full or close to full it puts stress on the stitching. To resolve this issue, I do not fill it completely up with heavy stuff. Honestly, most of my trips it’s a quarter full and the water bladder and extra water bottles are what makes it heavy. After the last few trips and hiking with a near empty bag, I decided to get a 20-liter bag since my gear only fills up about that half my normal bag.
