Over ten years the range expanded beyond commuter bikes to include road, mountain, cyclo-cross, gravel, kids and fat bikes. The Vapour is Genesis’ CX race machine and there are three models available (10, 20 and 30). There’s the option of having a full carbon frame at the higher end of the spec too, or a more affordable version with an aluminium frame and carbon fork. The Genesis Datum is another versatile bike that could serve as a gravel-cruncher or mile-muncher, depending on the tyres you choose to run. There’s also a women’s-specific version of the Datum, as well as a frameset so you can build your own.
If you prefer a wider range of speed options the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike might be an entry-level bike worth trying. And the Suspension fork with 80mm travel absorbs certain bumps, allowing me to enjoy the speed without having to deal too much with the soreness and genesis bicycles numbness from the bumps. Finally, for the bikepackers, the Longitude is a fully rigid, steel-framed mid-fat expedition adventure bike. The Genesis Tarn is a steel-framed short-travel hardtail with 120mm travel and 27.5in wheels, and is equipped with Maxxis Rekon tyres.
In low gears, you can ride leisurely and watch the scenery along the way. With its steel frame and carbon fork, asymmetrical chainstays and 650b wheels with gargantuan 50c tyres, it’s perfect if you want a bike that will take you anywhere, but don’t want a mountain bike. By then they’d developed lightweight wheels in that size, and the weight of those bikes became more consistent. For whatever reason I was more caught up in just being able to make bikes at that time. Front disc brake and rear V-brake, although the braking performance of a disc brake is better than V-brake, the Genesis V2100 mountain bike is still designed with V-brake on the rear wheel. In comparison, this Huffy Marker Women’s Mountain Bike is, as its name suggests, more suitable for petite women. Because the relatively low standing height will be easier to straddle. The Carrera Detonate Full Suspension Mens Mountain Bike is a little more expensive than the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike, but it also has longer fork travel. Secondly, I needed more torque for this bike and I should have swapped the front cassette for a bigger one on the climb. Summing up this failure, I pushed the bike up again, straddled it, and challenged this uphill with eve’s cheering.
