Another thing I don’t love is the shoe seemed slightly out of square to the blade when it was in the 0 bevel position. I will have to take out my square every time I switch up the bevels to make sure it’s cutting perfectly square. The XSH06PT made quick work of crosscuts on studs—cutting through them like butter. The saw was fast, smooth, and accurate when I made long rips on plywood. It has a 2⅝-inch cutting depth at 90 degrees, slightly deeper than many of its competitors, which offer just 2½-inch depth or less. The saw’s brushless motor means reduced internal friction, so the XSH06PT delivers 6,000 blade rpm.

The kit shown was around $400 for everything and the bare tool alone will set you back about $200. There was one kit for the XSH01Z and that was the XSH01PT which had the two 5.0Ah batteries included. There was a bit of a price makita circular saw difference for the saw itself, ranging from about $20-$30 in price which is quite significant. Home Depot was not included in this price comparison because I did not find it anywhere on their site when I was doing my research.

If that was the only improvement, the Makita 5007MG would not be worth the extra money. I would really recommend this saw for professionals and people who want more performance out of a cordless circular saw than what is traditionally out there. This model is definitely a lot more powerful then traditional 18 V saws out there and won’t bog down as much, when cutting through some of those thicker pieces of lumber.
