Chacom Pipe for sale

We know how smoking tobacco pipe owners loved their pipes – the feel of the pipe in our hands, the sensation of the stem on our lips when enjoying our favorite tobacco mix. Made by the famous French Chapuis-Comoy Company, Chacom tobacco pipes are old-school pipes made with modern-day flair. Chapuis-Comoy is the French company that creates and sells Chacom pipes worldwide. Set up in Villard-Saint-Sauveur, a village neighboring Saint-Claude (the world capital city of briar-wood pipe), it is one of the largest French pipe brands. Chacom pipes stand out thanks to their mix of tradition, creation and innovation.

In it I wanted to show both what I am looking for and how I move forward in addressing what I see when work on a pipe. It is probably the most straightforward chacom tobacco pipes detailed description of my work process that I have done. As always I encourage your questions and comments as you read the blog.

You could always select the Jurrasic line, with classic shapes that have an ashen color to them, as if they were carved and shaped from a dinosaur itself. The Chacom brand, a combination of the two family’s initials, is the signature brand out of dozens produced by the nearly 200-year-old pipe-making family. I am very thankful to those gents of rebornpipes for their willingness to post and teach others.

The stem was very damaged with a bite through on the top side and much chewing around the edges of the stem. The bowl is very dirty with little room in the bowl – thick cake and lots of overflow on to the back side of the rim.I reamed the bowl with reamers. I cleaned the mortise, and the airway in the shank and stem with pipe cleaners and alcohol. You can see what the bowl looks like now in the next two photos. Using the syringe, I add the alcohol to the salt, topping it up to the bowl brim.

As early as 1825 the Comoy family was producing smoking pipes from Boxwood, long before the discovery of Briar wood. Henry Chacom is born in 1850, just 6 years before the discovery of briar and St Claude becoming the home and centre of the briar pipe world. While in a Swiss prisoner of war camp (1870) Henry meets up with his cousins (the Chapius family) and the plan to open a pipe factory if and when they are released.

They have shown how experience and manual work still has value in this modern society . The brand Chacom turned up (1934) after fusion of Chapuis-Comoy with La Bruyère. Having been sorted, the pieces of wood are dried naturally during 6-month period on racks and are turned over regularly. Following grading, the various stages of manufacture are carried out by master pipe craftsmen.

The stems on both these pipes have large gaping hole near the button end, exposing the stem’s airway. I shall be working on the stems of both these pipes simultaneously while the stummel will be worked on separately. The write up on both, though separate, is being uploaded at the same time so as to maintain continuity. Since 2020 MBSD Ingram LLC, owner of MBSDpipes.com, has been the trusted supplier of smoking tobacco pipe enthusiasts world-wide.
