Weber Traveler Portable Propane Gas Grill Stealth Edition

Some of the very attributes we loved most tie directly to the weaknesses of the Camp Chef Portable Pellet. Not only is the ignitor electric but so is the auger that feeds pellets from the hopper weber portable gas grill into the grill. If you’re at home, in an RV, or have a decent power bank, you won’t find this much of an issue. Yet for folks that like to go completely off-grid, this option is a no-go.

Everdure designs premium grills in collaboration with chef Heston Blumenthal, so you can’t expect a run-of-the-mill design. The grill has nicely sized handles for carrying, and setting up this grill is foolproof – place your pieces in position, and it’s ready to go. Our test load of two burgers, two brats, and two ears of corn consumed most of the acreage but still left enough room that weber kettle bbq the food wasn’t touching and the grill wasn’t overloaded. The cast-aluminum firebox evenly distributes heat across a grilling grate big enough to fit six large burgers or a whole cut-up chicken. The spacious dome lid has a built-in thermometer that lets you know when the grill is hot. And small fold-out side tables on either side are convenient for keeping grill tools within reach.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Traveler has just 5 inches of headroom under its lid, so you likely couldn’t cook large roasts, shoulders, or turkeys in it. Weber thought of everything — even the smallest of details — while designing the Weber Traveler. The grill has an automatically locking lid, gas spring lifters, and locks that prevent the cart from folding down when the propane tank is attached. Nomad does offer some custom charcoal ($36 for 10 pounds), and it is very nice, but it’s expensive. Thanks to its dual-vent system (one at the bottom, one at the top), you get the same fine-grained level of temperature control you’ll find in Weber’s full-size kettles. We believe in offering the very best value, quality, and selection.

I’ll run through some of the main features of this grill, before listing what I liked and what I didn’t like, and then get into the nitty-gritty of what it was like cooking on this grill. Most items shipped via standard parcel

When you’re done cooking, the grill cools quickly, and you don’t have to worry about dumping out ashes. Porcelain-enameled, cast-iron cooking grates provide even heat distribution across the entire grilling surface and superior heat retention. The Traveler’s single 13,000 BTU burner — which wraps around the entirety of the grill — gives off some serious heat.

And they can be a good option if you don’t have the budget for a full-size grill. However, this 40-pound grill isn’t lightweight by any stretch of the imagination. And heating the larger grill surface will burn through propane faster.
