Battery life is one thing, but you also need to look out for how long it takes to get back to 100% charge. Fully charged, this model’s battery doesn’t last as long as the Philips Norelco’s (40 minutes for the Panasonic, versus the Philips Norelco’s 60). Still, we found a single charge enough for several weeks’ worth of trimming sessions—even for the most werewolf-like among us.
The Philips – Multigroom had amazing battery life for the price and overall is a solid, versatile trimmer, but it’s just not something you’d want to put anywhere private. If your only use case is chest, arm, face or back hair, it’s a great option and something worth considering for your medicine cabinet. But past that, it’s not a powerhouse — it’s very narrowly focused, and isn’t going to trim chest or back hair efficiently. We would have liked the option to trim to 1 or 2mm rather than starting all the way at 3mm, but still – along with the foil end it provides a good balance of trimming options. The BodyGroomer 7000’s brushed-aluminium design not only looks premium, but it feels sturdy and well made.
Finally, if you’re looking for a cheaper trimmer that can also function on your face, the Remington is a solid choice as well. It has great battery life, versatility, and is also significantly philips body groomer easier to use than its counterparts. The Bodygroom, already our preferred option in blade type, also outperformed the field in battery life, with a two-hour average run time.
