Epson Inkjet Printers

We’ve picked the best Epson printers in multiple use cases, based on our tests and overall evaluations. Although Epson printers are popular, they tend to get overshadowed by other brands, as their performance tends to be more middle-of-the-pack. Like other manufacturers, they have a diverse lineup, but Epson is the only one that doesn’t produce any laser printers. Since inkjet printers generally have slow printing speeds, they’re less desirable for businesses that perform high-volume printing regularly.

And our scans from the ADF came out almost completely straight, a rarity among printers we’ve tested. If you don’t print often, or if you need a basic color printer that can also scan, this inkjet printer is a relatively inexpensive model that gets a variety of print jobs epson inkjet printers done. Color documents were just as sharp, but printed much slower at 5.2ppm for a 39-page PDF-based presentation. I felt that the ET-4550’s dye-based cyan ink made its blues look a bit washed out in Standard mode, although its reds and greens looked vibrant and bold.

But you can use only HP toner with it, so be prepared to pay full price come replacement time. The ET-4550’s copier has a 30-page document feeder and color copied 12 pages at the rate of 3.3ppm. In some cases, the copies looked better than the originals — it made some wrinkles in the paper less pronounced, for example. The printer also has an RJ-11 port for faxing; it can handle 20 pages per epson photo printer minute and hold up to 100 pages in memory. The Office mode, meant for speedy archiving, offers only selections for resolution and the ability to enhance type; it took me 26.3 seconds to scan a page at 200 dpi. Only its output tray, which holds half the amount of sheets than certain rivals in its class, and lack of optional paper trays (for mixed paper size printing) are cons worth mentioning.

The SureColor T-Series features the T3770

Reinstalling of a printer driver is recommended after the OS is upgraded. The second set of WorkForce WF models is aimed at heavier-duty use. The low end of the range starts where the high end of the first set leaves off, and it runs all the way up to floor-standing models suitable for large workgroups. Note that the Supertank category is the only one where the category name comes after the model number rather than before it.

I even added Comic Sans to the mix, because some people still think it’s a good idea to use it. The only downside is how small the ink cartridges are on this printer. I know ink is where companies make the most money, but replacing these tiny cartridges every few weeks or months will get old quick. Sublimation is the process of transferring ink from paper to another material like t-shirts, mugs and canvases. There are plenty of options if you are looking to convert a standard printer to use sublimation ink but if possible you should buy a dedicated printer for the job.
