Sun Joe corded electric mower hits new low of $85, more

Because water sprays from a washer’s nozzle with such intensity, it can lift up and remove dirt, mildew, and grime that a regular garden hose simply can’t handle. Cleanup jobs that would normally take 20 to 30 minutes with a garden hose and a sponge or wire brush take a fraction of the time with a pressure washer. During our testing, we cleaned a manure-covered wheelbarrow in a matter of minutes, and a set of ancient Adirondack chairs took maybe three or four minutes apiece. You get better results for less work, and the benefits increase as the jobs get bigger.

The storage space even has an additional hole in case you add a nozzle later on. The RY comes with three nozzles (rotary, 15-degree, and soap), and among those sun joe electric mower we don’t think there is any normal cleaning task that the RY can’t handle. A pressure washer makes fast work of big cleaning projects (and small ones, too).

It has a 12 amp motor that cuts a 13.4-inch-wide path, and it comes with a 9.2-gallon rear collection bag for convenient and easy grass disposal. Plus, you can customize your cut with three adjustable height settings. The SunJoe mower could definitely use a larger grass bag. The one supplied is rather small (only 9.26 gallon capacity) and had to be emptied more frequently than some other mowers we tested. And because it’s not a mulching mower, you have no option but to use the grass catcher.

The Greenworks GPW2300 is similar to our Ryobi top pick and DeWalt runner-up, but it has smaller wheels, and we’ve seen availability issues with that company’s models. Other models, such as the AR Blue Clean AR383, AR Blue Clean’s AR383SS, and the Sun Joe SPX4600, were marred by subpar cord and hose storage. On smaller jobs we didn’t notice much of a difference, but we felt it on larger ones like scrubbing down an entire driveway, cleaning a large deck, or rinsing a long stretch of sidewalk. The added power especially helps with cleaning masonry, such as a brick chimney.

As long as there’s water in the reservoir, your seedlings will get the water they need. Disclaimer – GPReview would like to thank SunJoe for giving us a free sample to review. One feature I would’ve liked to see on the SunJoe mower is the ability to check the battery level without having to open the compartment cover to press the indicator button on the battery.

I needed a pick to help me route the zip ties after I drilled two holes on the plastic back plate. The zip ties replace the function of the damaged pegs which use to hold the blade in place. The bolt should be tight enough to hold the blade in place so the zip ties should receive little stress during operation. If you can mow your lawn on a single charge, a Sun Joe cordless is without a doubt a viable alternative. If you’re a contractor, a lot depends on how you feel about the environment and how much you’re prepared to invest in batteries. While on the subject, it’s worth checking the bag size.

The clearly labeled nozzles are stored at the handle, and the cord has the same smart placement of the GFCI brick. The controls are intuitive, as are the connection points for the hoses. We didn’t notice any difference in cleaning power between the two. We also cleaned years of caked-on cow manure off an old, well-used Ford tractor.

The Ryobi RY comes equipped with a 160 cc Honda engine that has a truly stellar reputation. The cord storage is positioned very low, and with a 35-foot cord, wrapping up the entire length takes a while. Additionally, there’s so much cord that it just barely fits around the “horns” that you’re meant to wrap the cord around.

Responding to the need for an easy-to-use electric mower for smaller lawns, Sun Joe® developed the MJ401E. Two nice safety features are the locking button and safety key. The upper handle can be folded over the lower handle by unscrewing the upper handle knob and bolts just enough to let the upper handle pivot over the lower handle. This feature makes it easy to rotate the upper handle forward (toward the mower) for easy transportation and stowing the mower in tight spaces.
