When it’s time to head home, the tent easily packs up into an expandable carry bag with a rip strip until you’re off on your next adventure. Despite its inexpensive price tag and overall lack of features, the Coleman Sundome is a highly durable camping tent that should have no problem standing up to years of use. The bathtub floor is made of a thick, tarp-like material, and the body and mesh don’t feel in the least bit fragile.
This Coleman Sundome 2 person tent review is about an enormously popular tent. This is a nice tool to use in relatively dry conditions and for occasional outdoor excursions and camping with a car access. It will provide you a shelter against annoying insects, and it will protect you from the wind and light rain. The Coleman tent is not really a four person tent unless you have small children, under the age of five.
Coleman tents are tested in winds up to 35 miles per hour to ensure they will stand up to mild winds. This is helped in part by the 11mm shock-corded fiberglass tent poles. Even after we figured in the size of the air mattress, we still had plenty of room to store our gear off to the sides plus the little bed for our dog Lily. I really wanted to recommend this as an affordable entry level tent. Outside of dry weather campouts in the backyard, there are better alternatives to be found. Even with the added privacy vent, I find ventilation for this tent to be a little less than impressive. The front and rear windows are fairly small, only covering the top portion of the tent. There is good size ventilation mesh on the ends of the tent, but once the rain cover is in place those are also covered.
If you think you’ll experience rain on your camping adventures, you get what you pay for here and it’s probably best to look elsewhere.
