The Kent Electric Cruiser’s 350W rear-hub motor was more than capable on the flat roads and bike paths around my home, easily reaching and staying at 20 mph. But when the bike was kent hybrid bike pointed uphill, the performance was much less impressive. With me pedaling and the power assist at maximum, my speed frequently dropped down into the single digits on steep hills.
However, larger wheels can also make the bike heavier and more challenging to maneuver. A 180W motor is relatively small and so is a kent electric bike 125Wh battery, but the Torpedo still weighs in at nearly 18kg. That’s quite a bit for a child to shift when there’s no power left.

Kent Bikes often come with accessories such as kickstands, water bottle holders, and rear racks. These accessories add to the functionality and convenience of the bike. Lukas also said if riders do not park their vehicles in the correct zones they will continue to be charged until it is corrected. This system will hopefully stop users from leaving their vehicles in trash cans and on top of roofs. One of Kent Bikes’ most significant achievements came in the 1990s when the brand introduced the first dual-suspension mountain bike. This innovation changed the cycling industry, paving the way for more advanced and comfortable bicycles that could withstand rugged terrains. As Kent Bikes continued to grow, it expanded its product range and introduced innovative features in its bicycles.
Popping a tube wouldn’t be so bad, except I had to walk the bike the remainder of the trail. Because its battery is mounted underneath its rear rack, SixThreeZero Around the Block e-cruiser has more of that classic beach cruiser look. Speaking of steps, the step-thru frame comes in only one size but should fit most riders five feet and taller. Kent currently offers three electric models for adults, plus one for kids.
Alongside the 27-inch Kent Electric and Kent Step-Through Electric, the Cruiser is more of a unisex offering and is available exclusively from Walmart. Having not ridden Kent’s new e-bike (yet, but hopefully that changes), it’s hard for me to judge it too hard on the spec sheet alone. But for the $1,498 price, it’s at least an interesting addition to a slew of Walmart e-bikes that so far haven’t taken a shot at such higher-end (or perhaps even midlevel) markets. With a price of $1,498, Kent’s mid-drive e-bike certainly isn’t competing with the several thousand dollar models that use German mid-drive motors, and so it likely opts for a Chinese motor. That isn’t a bad thing, as many riders (including myself) have been very happy with lower-cost mid-drive motors. I have a Truckrun motor on my daily rider city e-bike, and it works wonderfully. In the case of Kent’s mid-drive electric bike, seen above, it’s not clear exactly which 250W motor is used. Nicer (i.e., more expensive) e-bikes tend to use fancier mid-drive motors like those made by Brose, Bosch, Yamaha, and other major German or Japanese manufacturers. Every bike is given a safety check and any non-functioning parts are replaced.
