Coleman Sundome 4 Person Tent, Dark

If one of my poles breaks I could spend $36 dollars on some aluminum poles and still only have a hundred dollars invested and even at that price this tent’s still a bargain. Even though Coleman uses an inverted seam to sew the tent body to the tub floor I still went around all four sides with seam sealer before I took it out on its first camp. So I’ve spent 12 nights in the tent and with a good steady rain on 4 nights and no leaks yet.

Further aiding to the straightforward set up was the relatively small rainfly, which was easy to toss over the tent. Even assembling the Sundome 6 solo was a smooth process, which took less than 10 minutes from start to finish at a leisurely pace. And while Coleman attaches the instructions to the inside of the storage bag, we still think it’s a good idea to do a dry run in your backyard before heading out on a trip. If there is one area where the 6 let us down the most, it certainly would be weather protection (or lack thereof). The rainfly only extends about halfway down on all sides, leaving the lower portion of the tent body exposed, and you won’t find any sealed seams to help keep water out.

You run the risk of hitting your head if there’s anything heavy in the pocket. A combination of clips and nylon coleman screen tent sleeves connect the tent body to the poles. For ease of setup, I prefer all clips and no nylon sleeves.

We had mixed feelings about the overall durability of this tent. This did not raise any alarms since these sections coleman screen tent of the tent shouldn’t be taking much abuse. What did give us cause for concern was the fiberglass tent poles.

Additionally, both tents have multiple windows that can be opened/closed as needed allowing plenty of air circulation throughout the tent while keeping bugs out. With the larger Skydome tents, you’ll be able to get larger inflatable mattresses inside, such as the Enerplex self-inflating mattress. Worth considering if you like to camp with a little extra luxury. With two people there is enough room to set up a queen size inflatable mattress, and still have room for extra gear you may want to store in the tent with you. There is a mesh gear pocket to store things like you wallet and phone in to keep them off the ground.

The E-port makes it easy to bring your electronics with you by allowing space for an extension cord to enter the tent. You can also improve the durability of your tent floor by laying a tarp or a tent footprint before pitching to offer added protection. Some users also found issues with the protective polyethylene (PE) flooring being damaged within a few uses.
