The model is black with green, yellow and blue accent colours, with “Schwinn” printed in green and yellow on the down tube of the bike and “Abbott” printed in blue on the top tube near the stem and handlebars. While Walmart does sell Mongoose bicycles, they are not manufactured by Walmart. Although Schwinn and Mongoose are both brands that produce bicycles, they are not the same. Schwinn is a well-known, iconic brand that has been around for over 100 years.
Right now, there is a flood of options for people who are looking for a bicycle. Most of them promise excellent products that are worth your purchase. Unfortunately, a lot of Schwinn bikes no longer fit serious riders.
Plus, any pedaling efficiency lost in the rear suspension system is more than made up in faster downhill and flat-terrain speeds. You’ll also find your rear wheel sticking to technical climbs better than on a hardtail. And, you’ll have more energy on long rides because you’re taking less of a beating.Short Or Long Travel? There are different types of full-suspension mongoose excursion bikes defined by the amount
of travel the shocks provide and what the bike is designed to do. Short-travel models offer one to three inches of suspension to take the
bite off the rough stuff while retaining impressive efficiency. They’re
popular for cross-country and all-around use.Slopestyle and gated-racing bikes utilize about three to four inches of travel.
There’s also a nut or something inside my test frame that rattles and rolls like a penny in a jar whenever the bike is moved. Everything on the bike appears to be secure, so perhaps it’s just an extra part or some welding slag that ended up inside the frame. But, if you can afford to spend a few hundred more dollars than what the Schwinn mtbs cost, then I have a great alternative for you.
(I usually ride full rigid)
Left the kickstand on, made a ton of noise, but never deployed. Judging by all the comments about it, I’m in the minority but I find it’s a fun accessory. I did remove the reflectors and also the “pie plate” on the mongoose bmx cassette, again, based on my own preferences for how I like my bikes to look / perform. One minor bummer is that the informational stickers on the frame don’t peel off cleanly. To get the paper and gummy glue off completely takes some effort.
