The upgraded version of the Genesis Equilibrium comes with premium hydraulic disc brakes. The more powerful brakes make it much more efficient and safe during descents and in general. It has many different sizing options to accommodate nearly any rider. It also features the same 11 rear gears, 30-millimeter tires, an impressive 11-34T cassette, and a steel frame as the Genesis Equilibrium. However, along with the durable steel frame, it has a lightweight carbon fiber fork to reduce the bike’s overall weight substantially. All in all, this bike is our favorite, offering absolute top-of-the-line specifications.
The frame has internally routed cables for better aerodynamics and a wide section down tube for better torsional stiffness. The frame is also compatible with Shimano Di2 internal routing. If you want more control over exactly what components your bikes is built with, both of these are available to buy as just the frameset. The Core range is based around a genesis mountain bike 6061 aluminium tube set that is butted where needed with some gentle manipulation to ovalise the down tube as it meets the seat tube at the bottom bracket shell. There are strengthening gussets where the down tube and top tube meet the tapered head tube and the seat stays are an old school wishbone style, the lack of a bridge gives ample mud clearance.

An impressive fork at this price point and sensible kit are great and the wheels finish the package off nicely but the main attraction here is the geometry. Cornering is quick and precise with rear wheel drift easily attainable. The first thing you notice is that the cockpit is comfortable, it just feels right. Not too long genesis bike and well balanced with none of the ‘too much weight on the wrists’ feeling that sometimes comes on trail hardtails. With a new bike, I don’t think the front forks should be squeaking. I wasn’t totally sure if that was just how it was, or if they were actually bad. Twist shifters tend to be a quick and easy genesis bike way to tell the quality of a bike. Unfortunately the Incline is equipped with twist shifters. While aesthetically, the quality of the bike was fantastic, I did run into quality issues.
