On July 16, 2019 Deputy Ridgely met with a complainant in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between July 14th and July 15th an unknown suspect stole the front tag off of his work van while it was parked near the Solomons Pier. James Scott Mathesius, 22 of Prince Frederick, MD, was riding on the rear cargo area of the ATV and was ejected as a result of vehicle leaving the roadway. Mathesius sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment on the scene.
