Igloo Trailmate Journey 70 Quart Cooler Olive 34223347086

In which case this level of insulation will surely get you through a single warm summer’s day. A rugged cooler designed to take on whatever the outdoors throw at you. The Igloo Trailmate has a 70-quart capacity, retains ice for 4 days, and has a serving tray, tie-down loops, bottle openers, and big never-flat wheels that can take your party off-road. A pair of bottle openers, a mobile device stand, or a butler tray are among the accessories that come with Igloo’s Trailmate Marine and Trailmate Journey models.

Igloo states that their Trailmate Line has up to 4 days of ice retention. Compared to premium rotomolded coolers with huge gaskets and aggressive latches, 4 days would not be anything amazing. For most people, having enough ice to last for a long weekend is more than enough. It has a variety of capacities with the smallest being the 20 qt and the most being the 55 qt. It has an ice retention of 7 days and happens to be rotomolded.

In addition to this, you will find tons of great additional features and the styling isn’t bad, either. Built with never-flat, extra wide wheels, UV inhibitors that help protect the cooler in broad sunlight, and non-marking anti-skid handles and feet, they work equally well on and off the boat. Complete with butler tray, iPad or mobile device holder, bottle openers, fishing pole holders and more, this cooler line is intended to address many needs beyond a cold beverage. The handle is located right above both of these storage areas.

Coming around the the front of the cooler will reveal two separate storage areas. One storage area is a removable compartment which is lined with a rubberized material. Personally, we felt this was the perfect storage area for cell phones, keys, and other items which need to remain dry. Directly below the removable storage area is another storage area which to us resembles something like a magazine holder.

And combine with the fact that they are never-igloo soft coolers, you have a great mobility solution that is designed to last. While we always prefer more size options, if we had to choose just one size, a 70-quart is pretty good. It is large enough to fit all of the food and drinks for a decent-sized group while still not being overly large to the point that it is a challenge to transport and store.

Ice Retention – Insulated body and lid provide up to 4 days of ice retention. Optionally, you can get a bicycle attachment for this cooler if you want to keep the supplies you get at the market fresh. The manufacturer offers a 5-year warranty for all versions of the RollR cooler, which somewhat justifies the steep price. Besides the size, relatively limited ice retention capacity or a basic latch system can also be reasons why you want to consider some of the Igloo Trailmate cooler alternatives. Despite an affordable price tag, the one-year warranty period seems underwhelming.

It won’t be on the level of toughness as an IGBC-certified igloo trailmate cooler but it will still be more than capable in most settings. One area that the Igloo Trailmate Cooler excels at is its features. There are a ton of great features that Igloo has included that makes these ice chests stand out from just about everything else on the market. The Liddup, for example, has LED lights inside for lighting up the cooler when you use it at night. The Marine has special inhibitors for UV rays in the wall that protect it from the sun’s damaging rays.

We built our up-for-anything cooler so it’ll roll right over rough terrain like it’s on a paved path. The Igloo Trailmate Journey is a burly, wheeled cooler with a 70qt capacity. Keep 112 beverage cans cold in this cooler, which has two oversized rugged wheels, a telescoping handle, and built-in bottle openers. The maximum capacity of these coolers is the same as they cannot hold more than 70 quarts or oz beverage cans. The Marine and Journey models offer excellent storage features, as both coolers have a modular butler tray with two built-in cup holders. One of the major selling points of the Igloo Trailmate, in our eyes, is the myriad of features that come standard with this cooler.

rough terrain

You can actually place this igloo soft cooler on a slope without having to worry about it rolling away or falling over. However, there was still something missing from Igloo, and that was the fact that they didn’t have a proper wheeled cooler for those who just didn’t like the idea of carrying a cooler. That problem was solved with the arrival of the Igloo Trailmate. From the big (all-terrain wheels) to the small and a ton of handy features in between , Trailmate has everything you need. I love getting out into nature and it’s where I feel most alive.

While you will pay more for the Igloo Trailmate than most other Igloo products, we still feel that it is a bargain for what you are getting. The sheer number of great accessories justifies a lot of this higher asking price and even as a simple cooler, it does a decent enough job to not make us gasp too much at the asking price. Not rotomolded so less ice life, Only one size to choose from. We’ve discussed many of the Igloo Trailmate’s features related to convenience and usability. Thankfully, Igloo has thought about that as well and implemented various measures to make these coolers up to the challenge.
