The second weak point of coleman lantern tents is typically the stitching. The same rules apply here in that you don’t want to put any more pressure or stress on the seams of your tent than is necessary. Forcing your poles through their sleeves, hanging heavy objects from your tent ceiling, or failing to properly stake and guy out a Coleman tent is a great way to pop a seam. Literally anyone can have this tent out of the bag and fully pitched in about 10 seconds.

Headroom is limited to 4’ 11’’, but this is a fairly small, cheap tent that’s expected. The darkening fabric on this tent was in terrible condition.

Although this is a good coleman battery lantern for warm weather camping, it’ll be no good for rainy weather. In place of the mattresses, you could easily fit four sleeping bags side-by-side to keep a degree of personal space and bodily privacy. We’re just thinking comfort-wise about sleeping; sleeping bags are fantastic but they don’t offer much padding.

Every moment of your adventure is precious so with preassembled poles you can have your tent set up in about a minute. Your tent won’t be air-conditioned, and things can get stuffy once you pack it full of people. Newer tents build in vents and roofs that you can open up to promote airflow, along with the mesh windows that will let in air when you choose. Some tents are also built to keep out the sun’s rays, making them great for those who like midday naps on vacation. Although some tents promise to hold up to 12 people, things can get a little cramped when you have all the sleeping bags fully rolled out. Measurements will matter more than how the tent is advertised, so use a measuring tape to map it out and decide on the size that will accommodate sleeping arrangements.
