Whilst the 30 model gets a 105 2×11 drivetrain, along with the aluminium frame and carbon fork. As the name suggests, these are bikes that are designed for the explicit purpose of riding on the road. So when using the ride, emergency braking can be used to break the front and rear wheels simultaneously. This is a great beginners bike for the price and works well for smaller easy trails but the shorter fork travel on the front means if you are riding hard you should expect to bottom them out quite a bit. The aluminium frame is very nice since you do not have to worry about scratches rusting out the paint around the area and the rear swing arm is very sturdy due to the set up of the rear shock.

For each of the builds, there are different spec genesis mountain bikes donated by a ‘10’ for the entry level and ’30’ for the top line. Other bikes might have the specificity to perform better in a single one of these uses, but very few bikes would be able to perform as well as the Croix de Fer in all of them. It is the combination of a vast array of mounts, a robust steel frame and wide tyre clearances that allow this bike to be such a jack of all trades. Short turn radius, impossible to upgrade, even with good maintenance will not with stand a full season of normal xc trail ride wear/conservative.

It’s an attractive combination, making the Smithfield one of the best hybrid electric bikes that will enable you to enjoy the benefits of riding an electric bike. I always hear how everyone should spend alot more for a “better” bike…truth is what do you get when you spend 400 to 600 dollars for one of those “better” bikes? Low dollar everything componant wise yet its such a bargain? Sounds to me like a rip off but thats my opinion i guess.
