This stove was the most difficult of the tabletop camping stoves to carry with one hand. When it came to temperature control, this stove was among the best. We only needed minimal adjustments to keep water in a 5-degree temperature range for 5 minutes. The auto ignition button is easy to use and worked every time. Despite other stoves having a higher output per burner, the Everest’s 20,000 BTU burners had the fastest boil time in our test, taking barely 2 and a half minutes to boil 1 liter of water.
What makes this stove a league above the rest is that the regulator port is external to the stove, making it much easier to avoid smashing the delicate brass threads. Instead of blindly threading the adapter into the port, the two attach visibly, which reduces the likelihood of cross-threading. The Genesis Basecamp has many of the same features with a great external regulator port, but it earned lower marks because the windscreen is difficult to attach. However, both stoves are straightforward and simple to clean, and with time even the Basecamp is easy to use. The most fuel-efficient stoves in our review were the stoves that require the usage of a large propane tank. With these stoves, we used a full 11-pound tank and weighed it in between uses.
I`m happy with my Eventemp 3 and it fits me and my family perfectly for our car camping trips where we set up a basecamp that doesn`t move. Finally, set up and clean up on this stove was incredibly easy. There was almost no set up involved when originally opening the box, I believe I just had to install the wind blockers and put on the grate.
