A solid steel range and a smattering of aluminium and carbon models brings the brand bang up to date. Some models are motor-equipped folding bikes for nipping around town. Others have mountain-bike style wide tyres and can cope with rugged terrain.

Due to its popularity, Genesis became a label in its own right in 2006. I have about 1000 miles on this bike and it is still going strong, shifts well. Some of the parts are kinda cheesey, but it is a wally world bike. Replacement parts/upgrades are easy enough to find and install. Which is a purchase of a shorter crank arm and ill probably upgrade my front fork sooner or later. It has been dependable and required little maintenance perfect for a curious rider who is looking to dable before deciding if cycling is for you. Would suggest you take the time to get the bike tuned up immediately after purchasing it. My bike has been a great learning tool for me without having to worry about ruining a more expensive bike. If you are limited to spending money on a department store bike in lieu of a used bike off craigslist from a more mainstream manufacturer then try to get a hard tail.

So when using the ride, emergency braking can be used to break the front and rear wheels simultaneously. The wheelset is lightweight with an internal rim width of 19mm that will take good sized rubber which means you could add some float to the ride with some high volume tyres.
