It’s better if you can set this stove on a table or some kind of camp stand. At one point I had to use the handle of coleman camp stove a spoon to pry the case open again. You could fix the problem using a Dremel tool and a grinder, if you have one.

In terms of usable space and room for pans, though, both are every bit as spacious as the Primus. If, like me, you find the Classic slightly cramped (I’m cooking for five when camping with the family), the Cascade and 1900 series are a much more usable size. The Coleman Classic is a simple, functional stove available at a very comfortable price. It didn’t blow us away in any one category, but it did perform steadily and predictably — an essential trait for any piece of gear. It boils water fine, blocks the wind, and simmers sauces admirably.
