While I am far from reaching the stage where everything has its designated place in the shop, no duplicates, and a shop floor devoid of temporary storage items. We pretty much left the HART toolbox alone aside from removing the casters and removing the handle. Using one 24-foot stick or 1″x2″ 14ga rectangle tubing and one 20-foot stick of 1/8″x6″ flat bar, we welded up an exoskeleton. Creating a shelf on the front and rear allowed us to re-mount the existing casters in these new spots. This allowed the box to be lowered several inches, getting the look we were after.
