The Core range of bikes have fairly long frames, with the medium size on test here sporting a 435mm reach — roomier than some large sized bikes. This is a great beginners bike for the price and works well for smaller easy trails but the shorter fork travel on the front means if you are riding hard you should expect to bottom them out quite a bit. The aluminium frame is very nice since you do not have to worry about scratches rusting out the paint around the area and the rear swing arm is very sturdy due to the set up of the rear shock. I always hear how everyone should spend alot more for a “better” bike…truth is what do you get when you spend 400 to 600 dollars for one of those “better” bikes? Low dollar everything componant wise yet its such a bargain?

Buy Hard Tails on A combination of clean lines and an eye pleasing Cyan Blue paint job make the Core a very pretty bike and at a price that is pretty attractive too. The GenesisDatumis another versatile bike that could serve as a gravel-cruncher or mile-muncher, depending on the tyres you choose to run.
I must say, a lot of people don’t like low end bicycles with a full suspension, as supposedly the rear shocks tend to bounce and it makes for a pogo stick affect. If you’re an advanced rider, you’ll probably find the V2100 a little boring, so we’d genesis mountain bike advise you to keep looking. On the whole, though, we’re glad that the company went to so much effort in making a bike that performs well at such an affordable price. It makes an excellent commuter bike because it can handle some punishment.
As the price increases, so does the level of tech, with Di2 included in the top-end model. Just as importantly, you need to know how to remove and replace the bike seat if you find the original genesis bike one uncomfortable. It isn’t uncommon for some users to find a basic bike seat hard to tolerate. Thankfully, it is pretty easy to remove the seat by unlocking it at the base and pulling it out.
