This is exactly what I was looking for in a welding cart box. 36-inches wide, 24.5-inches deep, and roughly 38-inches tall (stock height — but we’ll change this). That said, the plastic used is not of the highest quality hart power tools and the units are prone to cracking. Other customers report problems with the handle falling off, which is a major flaw in and of itself.

I mostly use the tools inside at my workbench, so it makes sense to keep them there instead of in the modular unit. I love that they have drawers so I can grab what I need without moving them. But if I need them inside for a project, I can just pop them onto the rolling unit. Since I do have other storage spaces in my garage, I choose to keep three pieces stacked together on the rolling base, and three pieces on my shelves next to my workbench. The ones on the rolling base are for more “mobile” projects, like cutting wood outside, making repairs inside, and small interior projects. I can just roll the Stack System right into the room I’m working in.
The only real downside is that the organizer cups are very thin and can be fragile. One of the big projects we have planned for is updating our garage. It’s technically a two-car garage, but it’s actually the size of a three-car garage. It was built in the ’70s and the original paneling, doors, and even door opening mechanism are all still here. It’s like a blast from the past, especially when you walk from our modernized house interior to the garage. And the stains on the floor are…questionable…to say the least.
Due to the wheels, I added an anti-slip mat underneath to assist it keeping it in place. I got five out of six of them for myself, and doubles of one of hart impact driver them. The large chest is the must-have piece, because it has wheels and a telescoping handle. Once you have it, you can add any other pieces you want.
