Genesis 26″ Men’s V2100 Dual-Suspension Bicycle Genesis Mountain Bikes

I must say, a lot of people don’t like low end bicycles with a full suspension, as supposedly the rear shocks tend to bounce and it makes for a pogo stick affect. If you’re an advanced rider, you’ll probably find the V2100 a little boring, so we’d advise you to keep looking. On the whole, though, we’re glad that the company went to so much effort in making a bike that performs well at such an affordable price. It makes an excellent commuter bike because it can handle some punishment.

With its proportions, and tapered headset it can have many higher end components added the bike to make it comparable to bikes much more expensive than it is. This includes new forks, better derailleurs, better handlebars and so much more. The brakes are used with disc brakes on the front and rear of the bike, making for a nice look. In contrast to the earlier bike though, it offers 7 speeds, with 1 on the front and 7 on the rear. Braking is done by using front disc brakes and rear rim brakes, that are both wire driven.

But take the bike down anything reasonably rocky or rooty and the limitations of a hardtail with a fairly basic 120mm travel fork are clear as the bike clatters along. The Core 30 gets a number of other important upgrades too over the cheaper model and a polished raw aluminium frame finish to boot. Genesis has a reputation for no nonsense, no fuss bikes and the Core 30 is no exception as, despite its wallet-friendly, price this is the top specced version with two other models below it. Fill the tires with air if they are running low or replace them or the tubes if they keep deflating. Tighten your brakes with a screwdriver, if needed, to keep them working smoothly. Check the brakes to ensure that they work properly and can stop the bike on a dime.

With its steel frame and carbon fork, asymmetrical chainstays and 650b wheels with gargantuan 50c tyres, it’s perfect if you want a bike that will take you anywhere, but don’t want a mountain bike. If this bike is your first mountain bike, it is also essential to understand the various elements of its shifting system and what separates it from other bikes. For example, typically gear shifters are placed on the handlebars of a bike and allow you to change both the front and rear gears. Lower gears offer a smoother way to climb hills while higher gears increase speed exponentially. Before buying a mountain bike, you should assess its many features, perks, drawbacks, and basic maintenance requirements. From our Genesis V2100 mountain bike review, you will learn more about this MTB like its main advantages and even the downsides that may make it a questionable purchase.

The GenesisTarnis a steel-framed short-travel hardtail with 120mm travel and 27.5in wheels, and is equipped with Maxxis Rekon tyres. The dual compound 2.25 Ardent tyres are a great choice for fast riding on trail centre hardpack, but they seriously flounder in mud, spinning out on the climbs and sliding on the descents. I’d switch to a chunkier front tyre for most UK conditions.

We’ve seen that the suspension can wear out over time depending on how aggressively you ride it. While the Genesis V2100 bike comes with great technical features that make this bike stand out, it also has a style that is very attractive to riders. This bike’s great frame and easy assembly will attract the eyes of onlookers and give you a sleek look while you are riding. The way it’s cables are designed to not bend too tight and not become bound as the suspension moves up and down, eliminates the worry of any cable tension. The biggest monster of them all though has to be theFugio.

Perfect for pootling around town, plus the twin top tube adds a touch of elegance. If you’re in the market for a more porteur-style bike, the Brixton is where Croix de Fer meets cargo. Its 1×9 drivetrain keeps things simple, while the swept back riser bars give the rider a more upright position. TheTour de Feris a steel touring-specific bike with a longer, stable wheelbase, and comes complete with mudguards and racks. TheMantleis the brand’s XC and endurance bike, and is a full carbon 29er hardtail with 100mm travel.

By the time you have finished our review, you will know for sure if this model is right for you or if you should just take a hard pass on it. TheEquilibriumandEquilibrium Discare also endurance/sportive-focused bikes, and come with a steel frame and carbon fork. The steel makes for a super comfortable ride, while the carbon reduces some of the weight. For what I paid and what it has allowed me to do I have to say money well spent. I hit a few trails regularly and really my biggest complaint is clearance. Which is a purchase of a shorter crank arm and ill probably upgrade my front fork sooner or later.

If 50 is all you can afford then the v2100 will work but you don’t need a full suspension bike in Oklahoma and like someone mentioned earlier when buying a cheap bike then buy one with the least moving parts. Be warned though that shock is garbage and if you are very heavy you will experience bobbing. Ask them for buying advice and let them know what you’re looking to do. My guess is that one of the club members will have a bike they’ll let you borrow or buy cheap that will work better for you than the Genesis.

Let’s put it this way – this won’t be the last bike you ever buy. It’s made from high-strength aluminum, so it’s also very light-weight. The direct purchase of a complete bike is cheaper than the purchase of parts and components to match genesis mountain bike a bike. You will need to have a lot of mountain bike experience and a budget if you are a professional racer, so you can assemble the bike yourself. The bike’s seat is very easy to adjust and allows for multiple rider heights.
