Coleman 4-Person Cabin Tent with Instant Setup Review

The aluminum poles are also quite durable; the leg poles are 16mm thick, while the roof poles are 12mm thick. All of these heavy-duty materials add a great deal to the weight—at nearly 25lb, this is the heaviest tent in our 2021 review. However, this was not a bother to us, as this tent really only needs to be transported from the car to the impact pad, and we’d rather heft a few extra pounds than sacrifice durability. There’s no included footprint with this tent, and we’d recommend purchasing either a 9’x9’ or 10’x10’ footprint, which unfortunately is not offered by Coleman.

When it’s time to head home, the tent easily packs up into an expandable carry bag with a rip strip until you’re off on your next adventure. Rounding out the top five is the Hampton 6″pictured below” This cabin tent is one of Coleman’s most recent additions. It has been received well and has quickly started to get a good reputation for been easy to setup and spacious, the hinged door is another extra people really appreciate.

However, the zippers and the mesh netting are poorly made, and the bag will not last more than a season before it rips or springs a leak. The poles are made from aluminum, but many moving plastic pieces hold them together. The Cabin has three large windows, easy access vents in the ceiling , and two storage pockets.

You could give this tent a knock for its weight, coming in at 18.2 lbs, and a ding for the bag size — packing this one back up did take a little extra smushing, but it wasn’t too bad. The Cabin will fair well in both warm and cold weather[. The single walls are seam-sealed and have good coverage all the way around. The tub-style floor and tent walls are made of thick 150D polyester. The six stakes will hold the low-profile design down just fine with the two pre-attached guylines. Should the weather turn hot, the large windows on both sides of the tent and door paired with the two top vents allow plenty of air to run through.

Measurements will matter more than how the tent is advertised, so use a measuring tape to map it out and decide on the size that will accommodate sleeping arrangements. The biggest negative of this tent is probably the fact that Coleman makes you buy the rain fly for it as a separate product. The rain fly only covers the top of the tent, neglecting most of the main tent walls.

The Coleman Instant Cabin makes getting camp set up quicker and easier than ever. This instant tent has pre-attached poles that make setting up camp as simple as unfolding, extending, and securing. You can assemble the tent in about a minute and then get started on your adventure.

With its spacious interior, this dome tent offers enough room for two queen-sized air beds. Storage pockets help keep your gear organized, and an E-port lets you easily bring power inside the tent. Illumiline reflective guy lines offer greater visibility at night, so you won’t accidentally trip in the dark. And when it’s finally time to pack up, the 6-person tent fits neatly inside the expandable carry bag for easy storage and transportation. The Coleman® 10-person Dark Room™ Fast Pitch™ Cabin Tent blocks 90% of sunlight so families can put the kids to bed early and festival goers can sleep in past sunrise. Plus, Dark Room™ technology reduces temperatures in your tent, letting your group enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep and leaving you refreshed for the next day’s adventure.

I would not use it in areas with strong winds, such a fly is not the best option for such weather conditions. But at Coleman’s site they claim the tent can withstand winds up to 35 mph. The porch is shown in the pictures above and it adds around 1/3 of the protected space. But even the coleman battery lantern tent without the porch still has the awning and windbreakers on the sides , so the screen room is partly protected. Two different variants, without and with waterproof porch. Overall, the mesh design of this affordable tent provides proper ventilation in the summer to keep you cool.
