Exclusive: Cam Zink signs with Hyper Bicycles by ECMTB1

I have had the great pleasure of meeting with and in some cases working with most of the professionals in this email. You could not find more dedicated and knowledgeable people than Eric and Pablo. I have spent many hours on the phone with Pablo discussing his vision for the industry. I have worked with Stikman in a couple of different capacities, and he is straight up.

Mongoose had Wal-Mart bikes at the same time as their Mongoose Pro line up of higher end bikes . I’m sure the guys at hyper will make some great bikes for people of all budgets. Bike shop owners mark up bikes barely enough to make profit. They make the margins they need to survive but I can tell you that wholesale/manufacturer prices are only about 30% less than the rrp. Which is nothing, for example clothes shops frequently mark up their prices to the extent that they can have 70% off sales and still make significant profit.

As far as Cam is concerned, you couldn’t find someone more loyal. The man has been riding an Evil bike, in spite of their inability to support hyper bicycles him. Evil makes awesome stuff, but they are trying to find their way through some issues. Cam could have abandoned the ship long ago.

Equally comfortable on a hardtail, slopestyle, all mountain or DH bike, Cam is a perfect fit for Hyper’s goals for the new high end line of mountain bikes. Cam’s throw caution to the wind, go for it attitude is always a crowd favorite, and you know when Cam is dropping in something big is going to go down. That said, this thing has a tiny battery and a weak motor.

All you people talking shit that it is a big box bike. You see one cheap bike and you think they all suck. Mongoose is a great example of how that is false. I love how people get all pissy over this stuff…

They also sell bikes at Wal Mart with the Hyper bike name on them. I can think of one MONGOOSE and look at what happened to them in the past 10years in the US. You never see a kid at the park riding a hyper bmx bike and Spinner is a big name xgames guy that all about sponsors and money. I was lucky in my younger years to be in the industry through the early 80’s and 90’s.

You can’t say that about most other sports. I’m sure other riders can appreciate this as well. No bike shop hyper bicycles I know sells a bike for 100 bucks… You guys have got to be the biggest idiots I’ve seen on here.

It’s not the store that makes a product good or quality. It is the thought and workmanship that was put into the product that makes it a quality product. Sure they have some low end products but I wouldn’t mind riding one of their better bikes. Pro bmxer Mike Spinner rides for Hyper and has a sig frame.

Even if you are in the middle of the street, you can fold this easily. When you cycle, you have to account for the additional time needed to prepare for the ride. You wear safety gear, ensure that you park the cycle safely and there’s enough room to tow your bag and sundry details.
